HAVERING SECONDARY SCHOOLS VISIT CUBA
Six schools in Havering have been working together since 2005 to support their partnerships with six schools in Holguin, Cuba.
With the support of British Council funding, the schools are able to take part in reciprocal visits to ensure that their students learn about and celebrate the culture of the respective countries.
All work is underpinned by the focal dimensions of Diversity, Sustainability and Values & Perceptions.
It is also an opportunity for students to learn about one another and to benefit from opportunities to put their language skills to the test.
Until 2008 the visits have involved a number of teachers from each of the participating schools, which has enabled them to gather and share relevant information and resources and to put in place the necessary arrangements to ensure that the work becomes embedded in our curriculum.
For the first time, from Saturday 29th March – Wednesday 9th April 2008, the three secondary schools took part in a visit to Holguin and Havana accompanied by students from the three schools. Read all about our adventures by downloading from the link here!
