Gaynes School Language College

With our specialism as a Language College we support and encourage the linguistic and cultural enrichment for individuals across a wide range of establishments.

This is sometimes through giving support (financial, resources, teaching); through collaboration on projects ; and through guidance (through workshops, conferences and training).

While the Faculty of Languages has very established links with other countries and partner schools abroad, other faculties also have international links. We are actively developing more links with faculties across Gaynes.

We believe that this global dimension puts students' learning into a real context whilst enriching their inter-cultural understanding.

We are applying for the International Schools Award.

At Gaynes School Language College we are committed to language learning and cultural enrichment. Throughout their five years at Gaynes every student will study at least one language.

With 10 language teachers and 3 Foreign Language Assistants, students will have the opportunity to study;

French, German, Spanish, Italian, and Russian

There are additional opportunities to begin Japanese, Chinese Mandarin and Latin.

The Faculty is spread across six classrooms and has a Languages Computer Suite, a Video-Conferencing Room and Interactive white-boards in each class.

The Faculty organises a wide range of day-trips and residential trips abroad, to France, Italy and Germany. Our other international links mean that there are opportunities to visit other countries, such as Greece, Cuba and Poland.

We also organise cross-curricular experiences and visits, and welcome outside speakers.
